Dear Fred,
Thank you for your message. There are lots of such songs sung in my family. All of my great-grandads took part in the War. I especially love "Little blue Kercheif", "Green Maple", "You are waiting, Lisaveta". I'm not a great singer but I'm a part of our school choir so we always perform at the concerts.
Victory Day is an important date for my family. We usually watch military parade in the morning and then we lay a table full or delicious food. In the evening we gather in the center of our little town and listen to the concert and sing war songs.
What's the weather like in Kazan now? Does your uncle live in Kazan or was he there on a long business trip?
Take care,
Pete
